Lemaire Opera Gasses with Lorgnette

These opera glasses are brass with dark lavender mother-of-pearl inlay and a telescopic lorgnette handle. They also feature a center wheel for magnification adjustments. The left mother-of-pearl eyepiece has an early repair ( as seen in pictures). The right eyepiece is marked Lemaire FI Paris with two honeybee hallmarks. "Extra" is marked on the top brass bar, which refers to a higher-quality or specialized line. The quality and craftsmanship of these French-made opera glasses is more than evident when compared to more modern knockoffs made in Japan. These opera glasses have been rebuilt. They were disassembled, and all the parts were cleaned and polished. The old grease was removed, and was replaced with new grease. All parts were waxed before assembly. There are minor brass and paint imperfections due to age and wear. These would make a great gift for that special someone in your life, who has an appreciation for Victorian fashion or loves that Steampunk vibe.
