Nine Men Morris

Nine Men Morris may be the most ancient game still being played today. It was popular throughout the Roman Empire, but the oldest known board is carved into an Egyptian temple at Kurna, dating to around 1400 BCE.

This board is 12.75 by 12.75 inches. The initial board is crafted by using four triangular pieces that fit together to make a square, creating a wonderful effect with the grain of the solid wood. It is then framed with another layer of solid wood to create a marble trough.

Marbles sold separately. It takes 18 marbles (9 one color, 9 another) to play Nine Men Morris.
